Make a Joyful Noise is an exploration of the life of gospel historian DR. Kathryn Kemp. Kathryn grew up in a family of faith and has always been drawn to music. Kathryn kept the calling she felt God put on her heart at arms length until she was diagnosed with Cancer in 2010. The diagnosis changed everything for her and her first step toward going toward the calling was to write a non fiction book called “Make A Joyful Noise”, which explored the birth of Gospel Music in America.

One day she mentioned to her nurse that she wrote a book and found out that she was the daughter of Thomas Dorsey. She featured Dorsey in the book but she didn’t realize how pivotal he was to the gospel movement. She then wrote a second book exploring the depths of who Thomas Dorsey was and what he meant to Gospel music. She wants to preserve this history in a museum.
